The ability to create an enabling environment for economic growth is fundamental to development and sustainability of any democracy. To understand the present, one must first take a look back at the past. The U.S-Nigeria relations was first established when Nigerian Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa addressed the U.S Congress, July 25, 1961. Therefore, our objective is to improve U.S relations, explore the political economic & policymaking process for mutual prosperity and cooperation.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE FORUM?

The 2017 U.S -Nigeria Legislative and Executive Leadership Forum, is a non-partisan and non-advocacy high-level event, designed to build cross-sector development collaborations, between legislators, federal/state executives, civil society organizations, private/public sectors in government and business enterprises of Nigeria and the United States.


Our goal is to create an enabling environment for capacity building, and sustainable economic development with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, regional security, energy, economics, foreign policies, trade and investment cooperation through cultural diplomacy and parliamentary exchanges.

(The workshop and study tour is a customised immersion for foreign public officials, executives of federal, state, and local government, private and public sectors, congressional staff, foreign diplomats, policy experts, lawyers, academicians, CEO's and journalists.


  • The Leadership and Democracy Immersion Workshop will begin with benchmarking information about good governance, capacity and democracy building on how the U.S presidential system of government, agencies and businesses optimally operate. The workshop will be held at George Mason University, Virginia. Upon completion of workshop, participant will receive attendance certificate. 
  • Study tour of U.S Capitol, customised meetings and substantive discussions with lawmakers on the Hill, House and Senate Leadership and committees with the goal of strengthening bilateral relations. trade policy and economic diplomacy
